I’m in the running to be

I have been commissioned to make a sculpture to be sited at my old art college in Cheltenham. This is my maquette of my proposed work - a 3m diameter spherical nest made from 1.5m lengths of steel tube.

Today I began research for my project on Diglis Island, Worcester. The project is one of six taking place around the Mid-Worcestershire Ring (a route created by the re-opened waterways between Worcester and Droitwich) run by the Canal & River Trust.

Over the next year I’ll be developing a project for the Island, looking at its history, uses, possibilities and people.

Engine of Growth was installed for a festival weekend in Peterborough on 20-21 August. The installation invited people to vote on the fate of a sculpture in the park as a way of creating discussion around the treatment of sculptures in the collection. The weekend was very productive with nearly 400 votes cast and some fantastic, lively conversations.
