I spent two more days at University Hospital North Staffordshire this week, researching materials and techniques the hospital uses, and talking to the people that work in the hidden but no-less important departments.
The box contains Dr Josep Sulé-Suso’s excellent 3D radiotherapy demonstration machine. It can show a patient exactly what will happen to them in full 3D using their own CT scan to produce imagery. More info here.
I also got my hand cast in polyester casting tape in the fracture clinic.
This is a cast of my head made using a sheet of thermoplastic. These are used to ensure a patients position is reproducible for each round of treatment.
