About the Project

Rich White's project for Diglis Island is part of The Ring, an 18 month long arts project focusing on the 21 mile circle of waterways made up by the Worcester & Birmingham Canal, the Droitwich Canals and the River Severn. Six artists will be placed around The Ring, developing projects unique to their locations.

Rich will be exploring the island's history, present uses and future plans, and developing public realm work to reveal these findings. Research and in-progress reports will be documented on this website's blog.

If you have any information about Diglis Island please get in touch via the Contact page.

About the Artist

Rich White makes installation works about location, sense of place and the relationships that develop between people and their environment. Works are informed by research of the locality, dictated by architecture and space, and through the uncovering of stories of identity, memory, place and history.
