Research & Development

Period of professional development supported by a grant awarded from Arts Council England.
Various locations: 20 June 2013 - 31 March 2014.

I produced three projects - in Newtown, Wembley and Birmingham - using different forms of public engagement in their development and creation. I also undertook mentoring from three arts professionals to help guide and develop my professional practice. The progress and outcomes of the various projects and fields of enquiry were documented on this blog.

Drawing to a Close

My Research & Development period is now drawing to a close. All of the projects have been completed and the mentoring is winding up.

Overall this research and development period has left in me a strong position. Working through the three projects has improved my confidence in my ability to deliver work to a high standard. I have learnt new methods of public engagement, and identified errors I was making in previous projects.

The mentoring helped me to take an objective view of my practice and organise my networking and self-promotional techniques.

I am now prepared to build on this knowledge and experience and move my career forward.
